Founded in 1975, the society has been actively working for promotionand preservation of Kashmiri culture manly through the medium of theater. With late Tej Bahadur Bhan as its founder convener a number of personalities from Baramulla like Bharat Pandit, Mahinder Koul, Ajay Pandita, Mohammad Amin Bhat, G. M. Maahir. G. D. Bahar and Mohammad Ashraf Nagoo have been its members. The society has contributed in promotion of artistic pursuits like music, poetry, short story by organizing concerts, seminars and mushairas. It has a theater were the plays mainly directed by Mohammad Amin Bhat have won laurels from the public its play’NAAD’ bagged the best production awards in Academy and Doordarshan festivals of 2004-05.
